MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - A woman has been arrested after helping a Midland County inmate escape from the detention facility earlier this month.
Veronica Espinosa, 27, is set to appear after a judge after helping Taijvee Dean. She could face anywhere between two and 10 years in prison.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday, an inmate being held for Failure To Appear in County Court at Law on a charge of Failure To Identify escaped custody from the Midland County Detention Center.
Taijavee Vashnique Dean, 26, left the Midland County Detention Center on foot after receiving assistance from another individual.
Dean was last seen heading in the direction of the pretrial offices, and was wanted for Escape from a County Jail, a 3rd degree felony punishable by not less than 2 years and no more than 10 years and or a fine up to 10,000 dollars.
MCSO says Dean is back in custody as of the morning of January 8.
According to authorities, Midland police responded to info about Dean being seen at the Park Glenn Apartments on South Camp Street in Midland. The officers reportedly made contact with a woman who matched her description, but Dean gave the two false information.
Dean later admitted her identity at the jail and will be arraigned on additional charges.
