MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - Longtime Attorney and Midland native Jeff Robnett was sworn in as Judge of the 441st District Court of Midland County.
Robnett hosted the ceremony at his house on Tuesday afternoon. Dozens of people attended, from friends and family to several Midland County officials including Judge Rodney Satterwhite who Robnett is succeeding.
Robnett said the void left behind by Satterwhite will be a great one to fill, but he intends to uphold the position with honor.
“Hard work, dedication to the law, dedication to the rule of law and making sure people know that they’ve had their day in court regardless of the result and know the law has worked and that I’ll be a fair jurist, and that’s what I’ll be a fair jurist,” Robnett said.
The 441st District Court is the highest level court in Midland County and handles criminal felony cases, along with civil and family law.
Robnett and all of the other newly elected Midland County officials will be sworn in during a public ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Midland County Courthouse, 500 N Loraine St.
