- Elf the Musical
Midland Community Theatre is debuting their final season show “Elf the Musical”. Based on the 2003 Christmas movie staring Will Ferrell, the show will have evening shows on Friday and Saturday and a Sunday matinee.
- Junie B. Jones
The Permian Playhouse is holding the last weekend of its winter show “Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells”. The show is a delightful holiday performance perfect for the whole family.
- Adults-only Cookie Decorating Class
Kidd’s and Canvas will be hosting an adults-only, Christmas themed Cookie Decorating class on December 14. Participants will learn to master the techniques for transforming sugar cookies into edible art.
- Home for the Holidays
Big Spring Symphony and Orchestra will perform their Home for the Holidays show on December 15. They will be celebrating native and adopted-native expertise like Tara Trowbridge, Soprano, Lawrence Thibeault, Tenor, Gershom Garcia and the Big Spring High School Choir.
- White Christmas Party
JK Dance Center will be hosting a White Christmas Party on December 15. Guests can enjoy dinner with friends, games, dancing and a white elephant gift exchange of $15 or less.
- Pancakes with Santa
St. Ann’s Catholic Church will be hosting a Pancakes with Santa dinner on December 15. Guests will get to hear the story of St. Nicholas while making crafts and visiting with Santa.
- Parent’s Day Out
The Midland YMCA will be holding a Parent’s Day Out event on December 15. Children will be able to participate in a fun-filled day of Christmas activities.
- Christmas Parade
After being postponed to a later date, the City of Midland will be holding their Christmas parade on December 15. The parade will start at 6:30 p.m. and will run down A Street from Ventura Ave. to Illinois Ave.
- Very Merry Midland
Very Merry Midland is open in Downtown Midland through December 22 and this year will feature some new and exciting sights. There will be a giant inflatable snow globe to take pictures in and games and activities, including ice skating.
- Starbright Village
Starbright Village, the annual display of lighted Christmas scenes, is open through New Year’s Day. Starbright Village also includes Santa Land, where children can meet Santa from 7 to 9 p.m. through December 21.
- West Texas North Pole Village
The West Texas North Pole Village is returning to Ector County during the month of December. The village is open now and will go on until Dec. 23.
- Comanche Trail Festival of Lights
The Comanche Trail Festival of Lights is open through Dec. 25. The light show boasts over a million lights on display in the Comanche Trail Park in Big Spring.
