ALPINE, TX (KWES) - A man is facing charges of possession of components of explosives in Alpine.
Alpine Police arrested Clinton Allen Gant, 55, on charges of injury to an elderly individual on Sunday.
Upon returning to the Gant residence Monday to remove weapons as directed by a protective order that was issued, officers encountered suspicious items that appeared to be components to construct explosives.
Officers contacted ATF and El Paso Police Department Bomb Squad who was assisted by FBI explosive technicians in searching and identifying explosive components in the residence.
The investigation is ongoing by the Alpine Police.
Police have stated that at no time was there any threat to the public or any individuals associated with this incident.
