MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - A dog rescue organization called Bully Beds got a kennel sanctuary permit approved on Monday.
The permit was approved in a four to one vote at a city planning and zoning meeting.
During the meeting, several people emotionally spoke in support of the dog rescue organization that has more than 40 dogs.
There were also two adjacent property owners that spoke in opposition.
Back in August a municipal court gave the Bully Beds Rescue a 180 deadline to get in city compliance.
The final decision for the permit from council and is expected to be listed on an upcoming agenda.
The rescue operates on the 1500 block of Carter Ave.
