Decision for new Midland Police Chief narrowed down to 3 finalists

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - In a release, the City of Midland announced the list of finalists has been narrowed down to fill the role of Police Chief.

The finalists are:

Seth Herman of Midland, TX

Jimmie Sevey of Nacogdoches, TX and

Phillip Smith, Jr. of Roswell. NM.

Decision for new Midland Police Chief narrowed down to 3 finalists

Herman, Sevey, and Smith were selected as finalists from over 34 applications for the position.

December 11, the three candidates will participate in three rounds of interviews with members of law enforcement, city management and others.

The candidates will also attend a community reception at the Midland Municipal Court from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. that evening, and is open to the public.

There will be an opportunity to hear from each candidate and ask questions.

Interim Chief Seth Herman will continue leading the Police Department until a new Chief is selected.
