Suspect transported to MCH with life-threatening injuries following officer-involved shooting in Odessa

A suspect is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after an officer-involved shooting occurred at the intersection of 6th St. and Hillcrest Ave.

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - A suspect is at Medical Center Hospital with life-threatening injuries after an officer-involved shooting occurred at the intersection of 6th St. and Hillcrest Ave.

Odessa Police say that they responded to a disturbance call at the 1500 block of East 6th St. at 11:46 a.m. Dec. 2.

Upon arrival, officers heard shots being fired and a subject began shooting out of the residence towards the officers.

The subject then exited the residence with a gun and walked towards officers. The subject refused to comply to officer commands and one of the officers shot the suspect.

No officer was injured in the shooting.

The officer that fired his weapon has been placed on administrative leave.

Texas Rangers are now investigating this incident.
