Odessa women dead following 2-vehicle crash in Ector Co.

The driver of the vehicle said lost control of his car, which had steering problems, and struck a 2000 GMC Sierra that was legally parked and unattended.

ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - An Odessa woman is dead following a two-vehicle accident two and a half miles outside of Odessa on Tuesday.

Maria Serrano, 67, was a passenger in a 2009 Dodge CXT traveling east on Hammett Drive around 4:30 a.m. on November 20.

The driver of the vehicle, a 71-year-old male also from Odessa, said his vehicle had steering problems. He reportedly lost control and struck a 2000 GMC Sierra that was legally parked and unattended.

The driver was uninjured but Serrano was taken to Medical Center Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
