ODESSA, TX (KWES) - If you make it through Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, why not add another day to your list: Giving Tuesday.
Giving Tuesday, which falls on November 27 this year, is a national day of giving to help kick start the holiday giving spirit. This year however Facebook has partnered with PayPal to ensure that donations go twice as far.
Starting at 8 a.m. central time on Giving Tuesday, Facebook has promised to double funds donated up to seven million dollars across the fundraisers.
The West Texas Food Bank is asking for people to donate to their cause through their Facebook fundraiser, or perhaps even start their own fundraiser for the food bank by clicking here.
The West Texas Food Bank is a long-standing and efficient way to provide foods to the people of the Permian Basin. For each dollar donated up to four meals can be provided, which is what makes the matching element of Giving Tuesday so crucial.
"Please remember your less fortunate neighbors, both children and grandparents this holiday season, and know your donation to the West Texas Food Bank is helping to provide hope for those around us who are less fortunate,” said Libby Campbell, the Executive Director of the West Texas Food Bank.
