ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Thursday, Sewell Ford presented a pregnancy simulator called an “Empathy Belly,” developed by the Ford Motor Company, and designed to be worn by engineers.

The purpose of these simulators is to give engineers more insight and a different point of view on what it is like for pregnant drivers.

“We’re so excited to be partnered with Ford, who taking the extra steps in their engineering production in order to make a more comfortable, safer ride for every person, no matter what step of life they’re in,” said Monica Peterson, sales associate at Sewell Ford, Odessa.

Ford uses the empathy bell to figure out things such as the safest seat position for moms to be and how to make operating their cars more comfortable but still safe.
